POSITION SUMMARY:
The Asset Management Coordinator assists in the development, maintenance and administration of asset management planning in the Municipality. The position also assists in the administration of procurement and risk management processes in the Municipality. Working with others the position develops and maintains the Municipality’s asset management, service request and work order electronic systems. The position also contributes to grant composition and administration for the Municipality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific
1. Maintains and updates data in the Municipality’s asset management electronic system.
2. Assists with asset management planning functions including cost analysis, condition assessment, lifecycle analysis and levels of service establishment.
3. Prepares and provides information to managers to assist with budgeting for assets including capital and repair and maintenance work.
4. Assists with the preparation of asset management reports and plans for internal or external use.
5. Assists with the administration of procurement processes in the Municipality.
6. Assists with the preparation of procurement documents like RFPs and tenders and the subsequent administration of awarded projects.
7. Assists with the administration of risk management processes in the Municipality, including the development of forms and procedures.
8. Assists with the administration of the Municipality’s service request and work order electronic systems, including the development of forms and procedures.
9. Assist with researching grant opportunities, writing applications and administering awarded grant-funded projects.
10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
General
1. May perform a variety of general office duties.
2. May serve as backup for other positions as necessary.
3. May take minutes at meetings.
4. Ensures confidentiality of work-related information.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Post-secondary degree or diploma in civil engineering or accounting/finance or related field or two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. A background in procurement, project management and/or a working knowledge of financial accounting are assets
3. Aptitude for working with numbers
4. Ability to analyze and solve problems
5. Ability to draw cross-connections and inferences from different sets of data
6. Ability to deal with the public and other staff in a courteous and tactful manner
7. Ability to work independently without direct supervision
8. Good communication and computer skills including the use of complex electronic databases
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Generally works in an office environment, but will perform field work either indoors or outdoors at various locations
2. Occasionally some light physical activity
3. No or very limited exposure to physical risk
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $34.69-$37.50 per hour
