Position: Purchasing & Logistics Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time Temporary, Entry-Level, New Graduates

Compensation: Paid position, Wage is TBA

Work Location: FULLY ONSITE

NOTE: Olymel is a poultry process manufacturing plant.

NOTE: This position is at our office in Brampton, please ensure that this is not a work from home position as we are considered an Essential Service by the government. However, all safety measures are in place for COVID-19.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Purchasing and Logistics Assistant will assist in various department functions as directed by the Manager.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist Purchasing and Logistics department with scheduling transportation, creating orders for shipment, invoicing product, filling out supporting documents etc.
· Photocopy, scan and file documents
· Monitor inventory levels of materials/packaging/plant supplies, place orders for products when needed, communicate with suppliers regarding status of current orders, update supplier data when needed etc.
· Prepare and update spreadsheet reports for material reception, material codes, production schedules, inventory lists, inbound/outbound loads etc.
· Monitor safety inspections of logistic equipment (power walkers, forklifts, counterbalances, batteries etc.), arrange repairs when needed, follow up on status and completion etc.
· Other related tasks

Qualifications: EDUCATION
· Graduate from Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing program or similar field

· Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· To target students and graduates in a specific program area

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Display initiative and sound professional judgement and integrity

· A self-starter and team-player with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities, set priorities, problem solve and work with all levels of staff while appreciating the responsibility of meeting deadlines and conflicting deadlines.
