The Human Resources Department is comprised of multiple centers of excellence (such as Benefits, Operations and Talent Acquisition) which allows our HR Business Partners to truly focus on partnering with employees, at all levels, to deliver proactive HR solutions to meet strategic business needs. The HR Specialist/Advisor works on behalf of one or multiple business units and focuses on talent development, performance management and employee engagement.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Point of contact for general day-to-day HR inquiries by Canada-based employees
  • Work with US HR Business Partners to ensure Canada-remote employees are connected to the business units where they work, and have a positive introduction and relationship to the network
  • Develop and direct programs and practices to promote the company as an employer of choice that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, high performance and diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team on hiring activity and serve as a resource for Canada-specific questions and administration
  • Partner with US HR Business Partners to ensure a smooth onboarding and orientation experience for new hires. Guide and coach hiring managers on best onboarding practices relative to US/Canada differences
  • Benefits – Ensure that new hires are onboarded to benefits and RRSP plan and serve as the point of contact for employee questions. Oversee medical, maternity, and personal leaves of absence
  • Immigration – Work with US HR Business Partners when visas are required
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to support the delivery of learning and development activities. Help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
  • Create ad-hoc reports providing initial analysis and recommendations.
  • Drive OHG and local HR initiatives as appropriate.

Who You Are
  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, collaborative working environment
  • Advertising agency experience is a plus
  • Consultative business partnership and relationship building skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as solid presentation skills
  • Knowledgeable national and local employment laws
  • Employee relations and talent management experience
  • The ability to multi-task in complex working environment with accuracy and proficiency
  • High degree of confidently and attention to detail and able to manage projects and work under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
