Job Title: Safety Technician
Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Acting under the general guidance of the Safety Manager, the Safety Technician will manage all areas of safety-related categories to comply with all associated government regulations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Track and enter incident/accident reports into process maps
Contract and track annual inspections for cranes, chains, slings, fire inspections, oxygen tanks, compressors and blasters
Update Safety Data Sheets to include steel
Work with vendors to order safety supplies, such as safety glasses
Coordinate contracted training, including FA/CPR/AED, crane operation, forklift and fire extinguisher use
Coordinate compliance trainings, safe practices trainings, toolbox talks (Safety Charpy’s) and new employee orientation
Manage Tier II reporting and environmental compliance
Participate in the ONI Safety Group, which includes meetings, emails and reporting
Coordinate sales and corporate office evacuations, FA/CPR/AED training, stretching and driving for work trainings
Update PPE assessments
Review and revise all written policies (if needed) in coordination with the Quality Manager to verify proper header and document control information
Coordinate OSHA training
Some travel is required with this position
