This is a strategic and hands-on operational role within the Provincial Diagnostic Network Team , in which the individual would be assisting in the day-to-day logistical operations for an integrated provincial network of over 70 public, hospital, and community laboratories, including transportation and routing of specimens in order to improve the network’s turn-around times for COVID-19 testing
Here is what you will be doing:
Supports the Network’s logistical operations, including problem-solving on dispatch issues between facilities, guiding strategic decisions on where lab samples need to be routed for optimization of the lab network and routing and transportation planning for targeted and surveillance testing.
Facilitates daily overflow huddles (as needed) with PHO and Community Lab representatives to effectively manage overflow volumes across the network and confirm overflow planning details. Follows up with network laboratories with volumes that exceed capacity to develop overflow arrangements and update overflow protocol as required.
Collates overflow data in Access and communicate insights, findings, and trends to the team through slide decks and reports to ensure key senior stakeholders in OH, and across ministries and agencies, have the most accurate, clean and timely information.
Engages key stakeholders (collection sites, laboratories and OH Digital Health Services) to facilitate routing adjustments as required.
Conducts analysis to identify opportunities to make proactive routing decisions and improve network utilization.
Tracks changes to routing arrangements across the network in Access to gather insights and improve network utilization.
Conducts scenario analysis and modelling to illustrate impact of routing guidance on lab utilization.
Supports meetings including scheduling, meeting preparation, meeting minutes and actioning outcomes.
Facilitates ad hoc working group sessions with community labs and PHO to support turnaround time initiatives.
Assist with deploying mobile testing vendors to support communities in need or with limited access to COVID-19 testing.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Engineering Sciences or a related health care field
Laboratory-related experience is an asset
2+ years of experience in managing day to day operation for the development and delivery of programs within the health care sector
Experience with GIS software would be considered an asset
Knowledge and Skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and proficiency/familiarity with other analytical tools (e.g. Alteryx, R, Powered BI and Tableau)
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Strong skillset in data analytics, evidence-based decision making, and storytelling through data visualization
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to create effective presentations, address questions and prepare reports, proposals and position statements
Self-directed, with enthusiasm, initiative and demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines
Project management skills that allow for managing multiple priorities at once
Stakeholder engagement and management to resolve issues
