Orpyx develops digital therapeutics to extend mobility and healthspan for people living with diabetes. We are an ISO 13485 company committed to providing quality medical solutions that consistently meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. Orpyx® SI Sensory Insole System is comprised of sensor-embedded shoe insoles used to empower people with diabetes to extend mobility by preventing diabetes-related complications such as foot ulcers and amputation. The sensory insoles send feedback to an app-based display. The sensory data is uploaded to the Orpyx SI cloud-based dashboard, where the data can be monitored between care visits by our credentialed care team. Our business model is a combination of medical device sales and SaaS (software-as-a-service) and meets the requirements for HCPCS and CPT reimbursement.

The Position
Reporting to the Senior Director of Facilities & Productivity, the Mechanical Test Engineering Technologist will work as part of a cross functional Research & Development team and will be responsible for assisting with and coordinating all levels of durability testing on electro-mechanical devices. The technologist will be required to work with internal teams including engineering, operations, and production and external suppliers and vendors. The primary focus within this technologist role is to assist with the establishment and maintenance of the internal durability testing program at Orpyx for an array of electronic and electro-mechanical devices. Additionally, the technologist will be required to assist the engineering team with diagnosing areas of concern and investigations on root causes for failures.

Additionally, due to the ever-changing and sometimes chaotic environment of an early-stage high-tech company, the Mechanical Test Engineering Technologist may assume additional responsibilities, as required.
Qualifications
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Overtime may be required periodically, depending on operational needs
Employment Status: Full-time
Work Location: Calgary, Alberta. Please note that this position is required to work onsite at our Head Office located at Suite 205, 1240 – 20th Avenue S.E.
