Controller, OTR Wheel Engineering Canada

As a key member of the Senior Management team, you will report to the Managing Director of OTR Canada and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. You will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting and finance, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, product costing and maintenance of financial controls.
The role will provide support to the global OTR finance team based in the US as required
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Control
· Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely, accurate and meaningful financial information and analysis.
· Direct and oversee all aspects of Finance, Payroll & IT requirements
· Timely completion and submission of monthly management accounts – 5 days.
· Drive required improvements in financial control processes including the timely completion of detailed account reconciliations.
· Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
· Work with the External Auditors to ensure both local statutory and US GAAP audits are completed timely and efficiently.
· Daily management of cash including Receivables and Payables.
Business Support
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
· Provide senior management with advice on the financial implications of business and operational activities.
· Provide financial support for operations and OTR International requirements
· Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new sales programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
· Control and coordinate the detailed annual planning process and periodic detailed forecasts as requested by the OTR group.
Others
· A member of the Global OTR Finance Leadership Team
· Supports other Administration based initiatives
· Responsibility of ERP system and other software support and project upgrades
· Responsible for local taxation submissions and compliance with all local taxation requirements
· Train and develop the local finance team
Qualifications and Requirements:
· BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
· Established record and reputation as a strong leader who encourages creativity and excels in coaching, inspiring, supporting and developing staff
· Strong self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management skills
· 5+ years in progressively responsible in leadership roles, preferably in a multi location Operations
