Pacific Coastal Customer Service/Cargo Agents are responsible for providing outstanding customer service to our clients. They also process cargo, including preparing computerized air waybills. Customer Service/Cargo Agents work in conjunction with flight crew and ramp.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has excellent people skills and enjoys working in ever-changing environment where multi-tasking and flexibility are the key attributes. He/she is responsible to ensure that Company Standard Operating Procedures and air cargo security regulations are adhered to at all times.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide information in-person and over the phone on flight schedules, routes, fare options
Book reservations, prepare boarding passes, check baggage and collect fees in accordance with company policy and tariff rules
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the aircraft, including those requiring assistance
Announce flight arrivals, departures, and boarding information
Communicate with flight crew, ramp, fuelers, security, dispatch, other airlines and all other necessary parties in order to efficiently operate flights
Resolve service disruption issues such as missed or cancelled flights
Lift baggage on to baggage belt
Weigh and screen cargo, collect payments, prepare and issue air waybills
Deal with time-sensitive shipments, notify customers of the freight arrival
Trace lost or misdirected cargo
Possess an excellent understanding of company products and services and effectively promote them while on duty
Ensure the safety, security of all customers and their possessions at all times
Pass initial and annual regulatory exams; keep up to date on changes
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous customer service experience required
Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds
High level of computer proficiency, MS Office skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain designated security clearance
Skills & Abilities:
Strong written/oral communication and teamwork skills
Ability to read, understand and apply/enforce procedures and regulations
Work independently under minimal supervision and/or as part of a team
Complete tasks in an efficient and accurate manner
Available for afternoon and evening work; including weekends, holidays, and/or split shifts
