Position Summary:
The Finance student is responsible for providing exceptional support to the Corporate Finance function in the financial department of Parkland, for the 4-month term. As a member of the Finance team, you will assist with the day-to-day activities including but not limited to, the tie-out of financial statements and external documents. Preparing footnotes to financial statements, coordinating with auditors for information requested, as well as proofreading external documents. The Finance student will also be responsible for providing support with special projects as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the tie out of financial statements and external documents.
Prepare working papers for notes to financial statement.
Responsible for working with Auditors during financial audits and providing information.
Analyzing the key financial statements to ensure accurate reporting.
Carefully reviewing external documents.
Working in a cross-functional team environment with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications and Skills:
You are available for a 4-month term beginning on or around May of 2023.
You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Candidate must be in their 3rd or 4th year of their program. You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities
You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment
You are a creative and analytical thinker with some project management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and are passionate about seeking out win-win solutions
You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
