The Pathway Group, a leader in providing IT infrastructure and Help Desk solutions, is seeking security guards to join their growing team. Pathway’s Managed IT Services division handles clients’ internal IT systems, including infrastructure (servers, networks, security, desktops) and generic applications.
Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, the security guards will provide exceptional, 24/7 security to the premises of Pathway’s corporate office at Markham.
Responsibilities:
- Man the building and the premises to ensure only authorized persons are allowed entry
- Greet visitors at the entrance & follow protocol for authorized entry
- Patrol the premises to ensure there is no unauthorized activity in addition to video surveillance of premises (internal and external)
- Escalate issues according to protocol – Monitor cooling systems, UPS and Generator systems
- Monitor fire alarm/suppression systems; monthly inspection of Fire Systems and Extinguishers
- Perform daily patrols & take readings of Data Center/Electrical Room temperature as well as load readings of electrical equipment according to checklist
- Complete shipping & receiving requirements, maintain courier supplies, maintain & distribute incoming & outgoing mails as required
- Ensure Janitorial Staff follow maintenance responsibilities
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts – including overnight in addition to weekdays & weekends
- Open to work on a part-time basis: 2 shifts per week
- Valid Security Guard License
- Must have valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Must be residing in and legally authorized to work in Canada
Salary: $16 per hour
Schedule: Must be flexible for at least two shifts per week; 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am, weekdays or weekends.
