Tire Changer Repairer Responsibilities

• Perform tire installation and removal tasks, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
• Inspect tires for damage, wear, and tear, and determine if they need to be repaired or replaced.
• Repair punctured or damaged tires using patching or plug methods, ensuring proper sealing and inflation.
• Mount and balance new tires on rims, ensuring accurate placement and alignment.
• Rotate tires on vehicles at recommended intervals to promote even wear and extend tire lifespan.
• Check and adjust tire pressure to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Perform wheel alignment checks and adjustments to ensure proper vehicle handling and tire longevity.
• Maintain accurate records of tire changes, repairs, and customer information.
• Assist customers with tire-related inquiries and provide recommendations for appropriate tire selections based on their vehicle and driving needs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Tire Changer Repairer Required Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using tire changing and repair equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate tire placement, balancing, and repairs.
• Knowledge of tire brands, sizes, and specifications to assist customers in selecting appropriate tires.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Strong customer service skills to interact with customers professionally and address their tire-related concerns.
• Physical stamina for standing, bending, and lifting heavy tires or equipment.
• Basic mathematical skills to calculate tire measurements, pressures, and alignments accurately.
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot tire issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in tire changing and repair, preferably in an automotive service center or tire shop.
• Certification in tire changing and repair, such as the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T-Series certification, is preferred.
• Familiarity with tire brands, sizes, and specifications.
• Knowledge of tire changing and repair equipment and tools.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as tires and equipment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues effectively.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
