PGC Services Looking for Accountant at Aurora, ON Full Time

PGC Services, a member of the Powell Group of Companies, is a leader in Hydrovac services within the GTA. We are welcoming application for the position of Corporate Accountant for our Aurora Office.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is in pursuit of a CPA or equivalent and is ready to take on a challenging opportunity and grow with the company.

Purpose

To ensure organizational financial stability by producing accurate and timely financial information and overseeing the operations of the accounting and finance department. This position will report to the General Manager.

Main Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounting
• Identify operational and accounting inefficiencies. Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures to correct any issues ensuring compliance with accounting policies and guidelines
• Review and analyze monthly trial balance and financial statements
• Quarterly financial statements with variance analysis and notes to Executive Management Team
• Operational and job cost reporting on a monthly basis for Operations Management Review
• Inventory control
• Annual audits and review engagements
• Participate the Executive Management team with the creation of the annual budget
• Government remittance including HST and corporate tax installments
• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Financial Reporting and Analysis
• Other Ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
• 5+ years experience in all aspects of the accounting function (i.e. reporting, analytics, budgeting, KPI’s, forecasting, etc.)
• Previous experience in a multi-company environment
• Previous experience in the contracting/construction/distribution industry is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience in Jonas Construction software is strongly preferred
• Must be self directed with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve and meet tight deadlines
• Must be organized and flexible to changing business conditions and a fast-past work environment
• Must be able to work in an extremely fast-paced and adapt easily to a constantly changing environment
• Strong interpersonal skills for the training and coaching activities. Process and results orientation
