What you’ll do
The Business Technology Lead, Clinical Informatics reports to the Manager, Clinical informatics, and has direct responsibility for the overall operational and business support of processes related to technology solutions within BCMHSUS. The Business Technology Lead is responsible for providing leadership, project management and stakeholder engagement for initiatives related to technology solutions across the BCMHSUS sites. This role works very closely with IMITS, Lower mainland consolidated services, and BCMHSUS stakeholders to ensure service levels are met and continuity to business and clinical operations are effectively provided. The Business Technology Lead ensures effective planning, implementation and evaluation of initiatives and the alignment of those initiatives with overall strategic direction of the PHSA. The role oversees the business processes related to disaster recovery and business continuity for BCMHSUS.
Facilitates the integration of technologies into clinical practice to enhance efficiency, safety and care quality
Assesses and manages support needs for clinical system technologies, applications and mobile technologies across BCMHSUS as required
Participates in and provides leadership support to business and technologies related governance committees within the health organization/department/program
Ensure that the operational processes, support model and governance are aligned and support decision making and implementation of technological solutions within BCMHSUS.
Lead the assessment, prioritization, and oversight of BCMHSUS technology project initiatives. Establish detailed project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables. Execute project plan according to project methodologies to ensure successful and coordinated completion of initiative components, facilitates consensus with stakeholders as needed, and ensures readiness for project implementation.
Track project progress according to project plan and identified metrics. Monitor and reports on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. Makes recommendations to project stakeholders regarding project’s scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implement or contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resources constraints and use best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
Manage and effectively communicates processes related to IMITS initiatives to BCMHSUS stakeholders.

Qualifications:
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in Business or Health Administration and/or a related field, plus five (5) years’ of recent related experience in a similar role in information management or business analysis including a minimum of three (3) years in a team lead role.
