What you’ll do
Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating various sustainability initiatives for the Provincial Health Services Authority, Fraser Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Providence Health Care consistent with the sustainability goals, policies and mandate.
This includes strategic communications and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to develop and operationalize sustainability initiatives/projects from idea conception to implementation utilizing project and change management principles.
Provides leadership and mentors/coaches assigned project staff.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Social and/or Environmental Science, Resource Management, Business, Communications or related discipline, plus an applicable certificate such as Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate, Change Management Practitioner, Professional Facilitator, Environmental Professional Designation, or other, and three (3) to five (5) years’ recent related experience developing and implementing environmental programs in a large complex organization (health care preferred), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Broad-based knowledge of sustainability themes related to building construction and operations: waste, water, energy, air quality and chemicals, as well as staff engagement in sustainability practices.
Strong personal commitment to environmental sustainability.
Ability to design and implement effective programs, projects and initiatives for a large complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize and interpret complex concepts and data.
Demonstrated ability to use systemic and critical thinking skills to navigate and resolve complex problems.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and use conflict negotiation and diplomacy skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholders and present to large group of individuals and/or audiences.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, work independently and in a team setting.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications, for example: Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point. Experience with Wordpress, Mailchimp and Qualtrics will be considered an asset.
Valid BC Driver’s license.
