The Lead Hand, Warehouse Operations is responsible for the designated area of the Warehouse and directs the workflow of other employees. Primary function is the consolidation of all outbound customer requisitions by utilizing handheld technology and computer terminals to coordinate the flow of goods and materials from the warehouse to be transported to the various client sites around the geographic area in accordance with transportation and client schedules. May operate a forklift and/or pallet jack within departmental guidelines to perform warehouse duties. Administers First Aid as required during shift in accordance with departmental and WorkSafe BC regulations.
What you’ll do
- Utilizes handheld technology and computer terminals to coordinate the flow of fully picked requisitions from the Consolidation area, to the shipping lanes in accordance with transportation routes and timelines and client schedules.
- Checks system requisitions against manifests to ensure accurate completion of orders. Follows up with Operations Supervisor regarding any discrepancies with workflow, or other stores activities.
- Coordinates with the truck drivers on the loading of goods and materials, and may preload goods into trailers.
- Completes and validates shipping manifests and any other Transport Canada documents. Ensures compliance to Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and regulations.
- Transports stock and materials to all areas of the facility by methods such as operating material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintains warehouse area in a clean and orderly condition according to established warehouse safety standards and CSA guidelines by performing duties such as removing wasted cardboard and shrink wrap from assembly lines.
- Performs physical inventory counts as requested.
- Administers First Aid as required during shift in accordance with departmental and WorkSafe BC regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 plus two (2) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Location Details: The Langley Fulfillment Centre (referred to as the Langley Campus and consisting of two buildings) will be the incumbent’s home work location.
