Position: CPG Sales Manager
Location: Pilot Coffee Roasters, Toronto, ON
Starting Pay: $100,000.00 base salary + variable pay
We are currently looking for a CPG Sales Manager with a minimum of 3 years’ CPG Sales / Business Development experience to join our team at Pilot Coffee Roasters (PCR). Reporting directly to our CEO, this person will develop and sustain the growth of PCR’s growing beverage and coffee business through the expansion of grocery distribution.
Primary Duties + Responsibilities
Establish a deep understanding of PCR’s business operations, including internal processes, strategic objectives, and competitive landscape;
Identify and develop new business opportunities and business relationships, as well as identify growth opportunities in our current client base, to expand revenue, profitability, and market share for the company’s CPG channel;
Establish and maintain the overall customer journey for the company’s CPG channel, including with retailers/category managers, as well as brokers and distributors, ensuring all touch points are monitored and continuously improved;
Negotiate pricing, establish trade spend and promotion calendars, run retail programs, and analysis of ROI;
Create customer and distributor presentations that are innovative and on brand to support the company’s sales strategy;
Conduct forecasting to establish and communicate a monthly volume and distribution plan to achieve overall objectives in the market;
Clearly communicate supply chain response with internal stakeholders ensuring the company can successfully deliver on contracts without production delays or penalty fees;
Maintain ERP (Netsuite), CRM, and sales orders, and provide ongoing pipeline analysis to assist in managing inventory, and inform financial forecasts;
Work with the Creative, ECommerce, and Marketing departments to ensure our product is being represented consistently and in line with brand standards, including at events, in print material, and other external engagements;
Respond to all CPG inquiries from all communication methods including from the media.
Skills + Experience
At least 5 years previous experience in CPG Sales and Business Development, preferably with coffee and/or beverages;
A proven track record of establishing business leads and building long lasting relationships with established grocery retailers, brokers, and distributors;
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field is preferred;
Strong oral and written communication skills are required;
Developed and presented category management stories to a major retailers and successfully gained new listings from the presentation;
Computer skills including familiarity with Google Apps and iOS systems are required;
Technical skills in quantitative research and reports, analysis and testing are preferred;
Good working knowledge of Nielsen analytical tools;
Possession of a valid G-Class driver’s license with a clean driving record is required;
Previous people management experience would be considered an asset.
