Our client is looking to hire a Wood Frame (4-6 Storey) Multi-Family Site Superintendent
The Wood Frame Multi-Family Site Superintendent is responsible for on-site management of
construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager and the VP of Construction, this position ensures all aspects of the work site are effectively coordinated, meet all safety and project specifications, and all schedules and quality standards are upheld.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and maintain safety, cost control, quality, record keeping and schedule for the work site
during construction by:
• Effectively managing job site workforce, equipment, materials and trade contractors
to attain specifications and plans.
• Working closely with Project Manager, Trade Contractors, Consultants, Inspectors, and Regulatory Agencies to prepare and execute project plans and specifications and ensure that the quality of work is executed the first time
• Developing and maintain schedules and construction sequencing in conjunction with Project Managers.
• Achieving project schedule milestones by looking ahead, identifying weekly deliverables for own staff, trade contractors and implementing corrective action where necessary to meet deliverables.
• Organize and run daily foreman review meetings to ensure scheduled tasks are being completed on time and in coordination with all other trades.
• Overseeing Project Record Documents: maintaining detailed daily site reports (track rentals, site inventory list, trade manpower, site conditions and issues), progress photographs, and site as-built drawings (including all site instructions and clarifications), timesheets, P.O.s etc.
• Assisting with bid clarification of trade contractors including scope of work, costs, scheduling.
• Implementing health, safety, and environmental procedures on site in accordance with legislation and company policies to ensure safety of all workers and protection of the public.
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, sub-trades, project consultants, City Inspectors/Safety Code Officers, and employees with a focus on mutual trust and respect.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with proven start to finish experience on mid-rise/high-rise multi-family construction projects is required.
• Knowledge of Alberta building codes, safety codes and workplace safety requirements.
• Basic computer knowledge is required (eg. Email, Word, Bluebeam, etc.)
• Ability to create project schedules within a digital format.
• Knowledge of structural, building envelope, interior finishes, electrical, mechanical systems and processes is an asset.• Experience in purchasing/managing budgets is an asset.
EDUCATION:
• Grade 12 education as a minimum.
• Trades or Journeyman certification is a definite asset.
