This position will help the organization with the goal to become North America’s leading smart port, leveraging technology and building relationships in order to drive insights that result in greater gateway operational reliability and enable better utilization of the gateway trade and transportation network. This position is responsibility for providing leadership in managing and advancing the Port’s supply chain performance monitoring and measurement programs. Central to this role is overseeing the development and maintenance of a stable of analytical tools that leverage complex data feeds and innovative digital technologies to provide historic insight, real time visibility and predictive analytics that will inform operations decisions and planning. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is evolving its business processes to leverage data and digital technologies to become an “Insight Driven” Gateway. The Manager, Supply Chain Performance plays a critical role in this evolution.
The Manager, Supply Chain Performance will be responsible for:

Leadership and Management
The ideal candidate will possess an appropriate university degree (e.g. statistics, supply chain management, etc.) along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, at a management level, in developing and reporting performance metrics and/or scorecards for an urban commercial port complex or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Experience in the transportation and logistics or port sector is an asset.
The successful candidate must have excellent leadership qualities and management skills with a comprehensive understanding of the workings of the Port, including the flow of traffic and materials. Must possess excellent communication and public speaking skills to effectively interface with all contacts including all levels of business, government and the public to represent VFPA as a dynamic organization prepared to seize opportunities for VFPA as a world-class port. Must have a strong customer service orientation while managing a breadth of responsibilities.
MARINE TRANSPORTATION SECURITY CLEARANCE
The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid Marine Transportation Security Clearance as this position is required to access restricted areas/information as defined by the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.
