The Opportunity
We are looking for a future HR Superstar – someone that connects with people, knows what motivates them and how to attract the best of them. You will support the HR Director, and will have a hand in creating a meaningful employee journey by bringing our strategic HR projects to life. You will be involved in full-cycle recruitment, Onboarding, providing guidance to managers and employees, and ensuring policies and procedures are met. We are looking for someone who leans in to understand the business while also having an innate ability to authentically connect with people.
Note: This is a full-time permanent position where you will be required to work in the office full-time to start with the opportunity to work one day from home in the future.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Provide first point-of-contact support and guidance to employees on HR-related matters
- Effectively communicate and implement HR Initiatives including programs, processes and tools that will help drive Portable Electric forward
- Full-cycle recruitment for technical and production roles using our ATS, BambooHR
- Supporting the HR Coordinator in Talent Acquisition strategies by reviewing interview questionnaires, building out our brand, reviewing metrics, and training managers on recruitment
- Support the HR Coordinator in maintaining employee files and ensuring there is data accuracy and integrity
- Assisting the HR Director in various HR Projects: Compensation Strategy, Recruitment Branding, Performance Appraisals, and Career Plan Development
- Champion all things employee engagement and culture
WHO YOU ARE:
- At least 5 years experience in HR, with 2 years of HR Generalist experience
- Post-Secondary degree in Business Administration, certificate in Human Resources Management, and a CPHR or working towards it is an asset.
- Full grasp of provincial employment standards
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when managing confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstration of responsibility, accountability, and ownership – ability to see things through and manage tasks and projects to completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Sound organization skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with HRIS and ATS systems (Eg. BambooHR)
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. This includes creating pivot tables and formulas and manipulating data.

- Experience working in the production or manufacturing industry
WHERE YOU’LL WORK:
- This is a role working out of our 3,000 SQ FT Production Space & Office in Vancouver, BC. Our office is located near the heart of the Broadway Tech Centre, close to many transit hubs. We have free parking on site, and room to store your bike.
- This is a full-time permanent position working at our office.
