Position Title: Systems – Data Analyst

Department: Precision Home and Office Delivery – Systems Group

Reports to: The Data Analyst will report directly to the Systems Operations Manager

Location: Oakville, ON with some local travel

Job Overview:

In doing so, we expect the Systems – Data Analyst to help the Precision Team to build and run a world-class delivery operation exceeding stakeholder expectation, including the expectations of the Company, Vendor Partners, Customers, Employees, and Independent Owner Operators (IOO’s). 

The Systems – Data Analyst is responsible for a variety of tasks including visualization, munging, mining, manipulating, organizing, and processing of large amounts of Business Intelligence data into meaningful reports and dashboards. In short, they are story tellers and problem solvers with a design-thinking mindset. They may also have to perform queries and optimization actions within databases and work with other team members to improve data collection and quality processes.

Experience with any of the following; Microsoft Excel, MS Power Platform, Power Query, SQL, R, M, SAS, Python and DAX would be deemed an asset to a successful Systems – Data Analyst. The Systems – Data Analyst should also know how to clean, prepare, and validate data for analysis and modeling that will ultimately plug into Business Intelligence visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collect, filter and clean data by setting up processes for data mining, data cleansing, and data warehousing

• Design queries and reporting methodology that automates and optimizes database workloads and efficiencies

• Use statistical techniques to and analyze data and produce dashboards and reports

• Assist to establish key business results by working with various stakeholders

• Interpret and Communicate findings and proposals to stakeholders

• Track and explore metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades

• Contributes to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

• Understands both the CDA (Confirmatory data analysis) and EDA (Exploratory data analysis) concepts and can incorporate them into their statistical applications.

   

  Qualifications:

• Understanding or certification in PowerQuery, SQL, R, SAS, M, Python or DAX

• Knowledge of visualization tools such as Power Bi or Tableau

• Advanced Excel skills (Macros/VBA, Formulas, Pivot tables, Charts etc.)       

• Along with demonstrable technical skills, the Data Analyst ideally possesses a post-secondary education preferably in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or Mathematics

• At least 2- 3 years of Supply Chain Management or Logistics experience is preferred

• Strong analytical skills: thorough understanding of statistical modeling and other mathematical concepts, can quickly draw insights from complex data

• Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with a customer-driven focus and a sense of urgency

• Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate clear, concise, and implementable solutions to all levels within the Organization
