As the Financial Services Officer (FSO), you will be responsible for administering the general accounting function including account reconciliation, financial and comparative analysis of contract records and progress payments within the Financial Services Unit and external agencies supporting the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care.
You may also be responsible for the review and analysis of various transactions in determining recoverable and cost shared items including the Federal and Municipal Cost Share Agreements and monitoring of electronic interfaces with particular large volume vendors.
As the Financial Services Officer you will report to the Manager, Infrastructure or directly/indirectly to the Executive Director, Finance (Seniors and Long-term Care).
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have two years of post-secondary professional accounting training along with three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
As the ideal candidate, you have a sound working knowledge of accounting and finance procedures and policies. You have working knowledge of regulations, policies, and generally accepted accounting/auditing principles. The ability to interpret and apply government policies and procedures would also be considered an asset.
Proficiency in using computer systems, database systems, internet-based applications, spreadsheets, and word-processing packages is essential. In addition, you can effectively manage multiple projects in a high-volume, team-oriented environment with a client service focus.
Proficiency in SAP or other ERP system is essential. You possess exceptional time management and attention to detail skills to provide accurate, consistent, and timely financial information. You also have communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills to interact and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Salary Range: $1,800.97 – $2,114.98 Bi-Weekly
