Key Responsibilities:

As a General Accountant at our company, you will be responsible for a range of critical duties, including but not limited to:

• Performing month-end tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Managing the Fixed Asset Register.
• Collaborating with various department leaders to ensure accurate accruals and reconciliations.
• Preparing VAT/HST/GST calculations and filings.
• Handling commission calculations and invoice preparation.
• Tracking and managing activities in our China branch.
• Completing statutory and industry filing requirements.
• Assisting with financial reporting and auditing processes.
• Identifying and implementing operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Supporting budget and forecasting activities.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
• Professional designation (CPA) or proof of current registration in a relevant accounting certificate.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written English, with the capacity to communicate professionally in a global context.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• Sound business insight and the capability to link financial analysis to strategic business planning.
• Proficiency in digital literacy and IT knowledge, including intermediate use of Excel.
• Proficiency in the use of accounting software.
• The ability to thrive in a changing, fast-paced environment.
