Reports to: Sr. Talent Acquisition Partner and Team Lead
The Talent Acquisition Partner, Human Services provides dedicated, full-cycle recruitment support to the Housing Services Division.
This includes: sourcing candidates through a variety of methods as required by the nature and level of the position; screening, interviewing, and assessing candidates; scheduling candidate interviews and meetings; references and background checks; and employment offers. The Talent Acquisition Partner plays a critical role in ensuring The Region of Peel attracts, hires and retains the best possible talent.
What you will do in this role:
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with hiring leaders to understand current and future recruitment needs, job vacancy specifications, requirements, and to make recommendations on optimum sourcing channels
- Educate, guide, recommend and transfer knowledge on recruitment processes to hiring leaders including providing advice on the collective bargaining agreement
- Provide support and counsel to hiring managers throughout the interviewing process.
- Screen resumes, conduct telephone interviews and facilitate pre-screening assessments to determine candidate eligibility
- Coordinate and participate in interviews on behalf of the hiring team
- Manage the job offer process, including references and criminal checks
- Interpret, promote and provide advice on compliance with The Region’s hiring policies, procedures and standards, as well as external regulatory and legislative requirements
- Build talent networks to find qualified passive candidates
- Track and report on critical recruitment data monthly
- Participate in recruitment initiatives including diversity and inclusion
- Remain current on recruitment practices, sufficient to provide value-added consulting to client on an ongoing basis
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
- Continuously improve recruitment processes to better serve client needs and meet recruitment objectives
What the role requires:
- Graduation from a university or college with an emphasis in Human Resources Management.
- 5 years of recruitment experience (end to end recruitment)
- Experience recruiting within a union environment and interpreting collective agreements is required.
- Recruitment experience within public sector and unionized environment is required
- Solid background of behavioural-based interviewing and assessment skills
- Experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies and initiatives
- Understanding of social media (LinkedIn, Twitter) and the ability to use these tools for candidate sourcing methods
- Experience with the selection and administration of candidate assessment tools and instruments
- Strong technical/computer skills in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and with recruitment tracking and management software application(s).
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal, networking, communication (written & oral), customer service, and organizational skills
- Developed consulting skills to lead a front-end analysis and guide the recruitment process to closure, including risk management measures such as reference checking
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Able to effectively manage multiple priorities and high volume recruitment/mass hire recruitment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to present and negotiate job offers
- Ability to promote and represent the Region of Peel as an employer of choice
- Ability to work with various internal partners
- Collaborative and team focused
Nice to have:
- CHRP/CHRL designations
- Experience with iCIMS applicant tracking system is a strong asset
- Experience supporting mass recruitment hiring

In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga ON. worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
