GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinator, Claims Management is responsible for maintaining and disseminating information regarding claims management processes and programs for all stakeholders. This position provides relevant information to the Advisor, Claims Management in support of developing return to work action plans, as well as providing guidance to leaders and employees who require workplace accommodation and work integration plans. Primary responsibilities of this position include:
Administration: Manages the administrative functions of claims management to ensure accuracy and maintenance of records, databases, documents, and statistical reports. Facilitates the employee injury/illness claim submission process by providing the employee with proper documentation and answering related queries in a timely manner.
Departmental Support: Assists with research and development of department initiatives and programs, ensuring that department goals and objectives are met. Participates in departmental project teams and committees to upgrade program methods and tools. Responds to enquiries in a timely manner, assists with service delivery, and maintains best practices. Assists with other departmental responsibilities as needed, such as recording meeting minutes.
Departmental Coordination: Assists in monitoring individual return to work/ work integration plans on an ongoing basis to identify issues and to ensure that agreements are fulfilled. Provides information on the effectiveness of the claims management processes and the department’s compliance with applicable legislation and directives. Meets with and educates employees to provide options and processes regarding STD/LTD/WCB/modified work, as well as continuation of benefits. Works directly with providers and other departments to ensure efficient administration, and advocates on employee’s behalf as required.
