Rein Capital is a private merchant bank with investments in energy, mining, and renewables with operations in South America, Africa, and the Middle East. Rein Capital aims to bring some of its current private businesses to the public market and therefore seeks candidates for contract and eventual permanent employment.
Rein Capital is looking for a Finance Manager (FM) to join our Toronto Team. A candidate with expert knowledge in finance, accounting procedures & regulations, and strong analytical skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– The corporate accounting and reporting functions including the operating and capital budget performance reporting.
– Coordinating the completion and audit of the consolidated financial statements, development of the company’s Annual Financial Report, the provincial Financial Information Return, and reporting to other government bodies.
– Perform month-to-month and year-to-end closing transactions for the financial year.
– Prepare year-end accounts and provide information with external auditors.
– Liaise with external auditors to prepare and complete audited financial statements.
– Preparing monthly management reports to maintain the budget controls for every department and implement proper financial planning.
– Manage receipts and deposits of cash and bank transactions.
– Manage the payables process.
– Utilize accounting software to its maximum potential.
– Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
– Advise management on any irregularities observed in record keeping, invoicing, and asset control.
– Prepare financial statements and analyze financial data; prepare reports for forecasting.
– Stay up to date with the latest technology and educate oneself with best practices.
– Perform all such other related duties as the Company may require from time to time.
– The FM will oversee all financial matters including corporate finance, budgeting, and audits of all subsidiaries in Brazil, Angola, Nigeria, etc.
