Revera Inc. Looking for Corporate Accounting Manager (Hybrid, 9 month contract) at Mississauga, ON Full Time

The Corporate Accounting Manager will perform tasks of a general accounting nature with respect to corporate financial statement line items and oversee a team of direct reports. This role will review and approve as required, specified journal entries and account reconciliations, contributes to the notes and schedules for the quarterly financial statements, designs and implements related process changes and ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This is a 9-month contract position.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze costs and prepare allocations;

Review and approve journal entries and associated calculations and analysis (bank, long term debt, long-term receivables, related party transactions, performance compensation provisions, insurance premiums/claims, G&A provisions and allocations);

Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations (including intercompany analysis);

To review and approve specific schedules and notes for the various consolidated financial statements;

Assist with accounting for transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures);

Assist with internal and external audit;

To be the Subject Matter Expert for Banking and Settlement functions within the Finance ERP, Workday;

To oversee the maintenance of accounting tasks within the Treasury Management System, FIS Integrity;

Work with the team to identify and implement process improvements;

Perform overall analytical review of all assigned trial balance accounts prior to month end close and discuss with the Director/VP as required;

To recruit, train, develop and performance manage the team;

Engage and motivate the team to reach department goals/targets;

Oversee completion of month end and quarter end checklists by accountant;

Oversee completion of month end and quarter end checklists by each team member;

Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of Conduct; and

To complete other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience

5 + years of relevant working experience;

Holds a CPA designation;

Experience with large-scale enterprise reporting systems, Workday knowledge an asset;

Strong financial accounting background with experience in preparation of working papers;

Leadership experience managing direct reports;

Experience in project management and ability to work under strict timelines and multiple priorities;

People and performance management experience, leading a team to successful goal achievements; and

Strong problem solving skills with experience designing and implementing process changes.
