Robert Half Looking for Accounting Clerk at Ottawa, Ontario Full Time

Robert Half has an employment opportunity for a candidate seeking an Accounting Clerk position at a department in need of support. The Accounting Clerk duties will include matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). Responsibilities

– Aid Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

– Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

– See to the proper coding of documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

– Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

– Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

– Post financial figures to journals and ledgers

– Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
– Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

– Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

– Bank reconciliations experience preferred

– Adeptness in letters of credit

– Demonstrated knowledge of project accounting

– Strong familiarity with Intercompany Transaction

– Electronic funds transfer experience highly desired

– Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

– Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

– AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

– Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system
