This is an onsite role – Downtown Toronto for a duration of 3 months. A banking financial institution is looking for a AML FIU analyst. Responsibilities include:
– Investigate sanction name screening alerts and complete monthly terrorist property report.
– Conduct reviews of transaction monitoring alerts and maintain records of alerts investigation activity and disposition action for alerts
– Assess whether transactions are suspicious and make recommendations for the appropriate course of action
– Provide AML/CTF/KYC advice to the first line of defense 5. Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly AML related reports.
– Assists the AML Management by supporting related project to improve AML related systems to achieve optimum efficiency and promote best practices of the processes and systems.
– Conduct AML compliance testing and training on business partners.
– Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field such as Finance, Risk Management or Law
– At least 3 years or more prior progressive experience in a financial institution or similar role, with exposure to AML compliance and fraud investigation
– A good understanding of regulatory requirement and legislation, including OSFI Guidelines, Proceed s of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, and Financial transactions report requirements
– Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team and throughout the organization
– A good understanding of Bank’s Compliance policies and procedures.
– Critical thinking and analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvements
– Ability to interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements.
– Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and use of platform designed by the organization.
