We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Real Estate Paralegal to join one of our clients in the legal industry and take on a wide range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
– Administer files from start to finish: As a Real Estate Paralegal, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing real estate files, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
– Prepare documents for acquisitions and sales: You will play a crucial role in preparing various legal documents related to the acquisition and sale of commercial properties, financing and development of land, and transactions involving trust relationships.
– Review and analyze title encumbrances: You will conduct thorough reviews of title encumbrances, identifying potential issues and preparing necessary instruments for covenants and easements.
– Conduct due diligence searches: You will be responsible for conducting and reviewing due diligence searches, providing comprehensive summaries and reports to assist in decision-making processes.
– Prepare closing agendas: You will meticulously prepare closing agendas, ensuring all essential tasks and deadlines are clearly outlined and met.
– Manage internal documents and trust funds: You will handle all internal documents relating to trust funds and various payouts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
– Liaise with internal and external parties: As a key point of contact, you will interact with all parties involved in the transactions, including clients, opposing counsel, and other external stakeholders. You will prepare and handle correspondences with professionalism and attention to detail.
– Prepare reporting letters and post-closing tasks: You will assist in the preparation and finalization of reporting letters, summarizing key post-closing dates and tasks. Diarizing these important dates will be crucial to ensure smooth workflow.
– Assist with billing and invoicing: When necessary, you will prepare billing and invoicing documents upon completion of transactions, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
– Provide administrative support: You will be involved in various administrative tasks to support the firm and its legal team as required.
Requirements:
– A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal
– Proficiency in handling real estate transactions from start to finish
– Strong knowledge of real estate law, regulations, and procedures
– Strong understanding of BC Land Title Office requirements and capability with e-filing including coordination of electronic meets
– Working knowledge of various applicable databases –i.e. BC Online, LTSA, municipal tax searches etc.
– Excellent organizational and time-management skills
– Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
– Proficiency in relevant software applications and technology
– Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
