Job Summary
The Operations Manager, Strategic Operations, is a critical leadership role accountable for steering the long-term operational strategy of the manufacturing plant. The position encompasses both tactical and strategic responsibilities, aiming to enhance organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
– Formulate and implement comprehensive operational strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term business objectives.
– Critically assess existing operational processes and performance, offering solutions for continuous improvement.
– Engage with executive management to define procedures, workflows, and resources needed to actualize the strategic objectives of the plant.
– Partner with cross-functional departments to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance benchmarks.
– Lead, mentor, and develop teams to meet or exceed performance objectives.
– Spearhead change management initiatives that introduce and sustain new methodologies conducive to growth.
– Initiate, manage, and oversee projects aimed at boosting efficiency and reducing operational costs.
– Establish and maintain quality control systems that comply with both internal policies and external provincial and federal regulations.
– Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the application of Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an asset.
– 7-10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
– Demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution.
– Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certifications are highly desirable, though not mandatory.

– Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas in a clear manner.
