The position
Reporting to the VP, Operations, the Director, Manufacturing and Fulfillment is responsible for overseeing all of the Manufacturing processes at Rocky Mountain Soap. With the overall goal of creating happy, engaged and motivated teams to produce and ship products that meet our quality specifications 100% of the time, and continually improve efficiency and meet our out of of stock targets of zero. This role is also responsible for leading the scale up of manufacturing and fulfillment processes to meet our company growth goals. This position works from our workshop in Canmore, Alberta.
What you’ll be doing
Direct, manage and monitor the overall performance of production to increase efficiency and maximize performance and profit
Lead production and labour planning to ensure the production output meets the forecasted sales requirements
Ensure effective preventative maintenance, cleaning and sanitation, and building maintenance processes are in place
Direct and manage the procurement and material management process to ensure the correct materials and packaging are available for production needs while managing to inventory targets
Prepare shipping for seasonal demand and build a supply chain that is strong and stable to withstand unforeseen challenges
Lead and oversee the GMP and NHP processes throughout the facilities
Ensure the Health and Safety of all team members through policy and procedure adherence
Control expenses to adhere to budgets
Provide development and growth opportunities for team members
Actively participate in Senior Leadership Team decisions, and partner with other leaders to create a sense of unity and alignment around strategic priorities

Does this sound like you?
8+ years of experience as a Senior level Production Manager within a GMP environment is required; Cosmetics is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or a related field is an asset
LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S and ISO Quality Standards experience is an asset
Must have experience with people leadership with proven ability to create an engaged and motivated team
Proven ability to manage departmental budgets
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail are necessary for this role
