The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Teacher Psychologist or a continuing, full-time (35 hrs/week) Psychologist position commencing immediately working on the Enhanced Mental Health Team. The successful candidate will possess experience providing a continuum of psychology services to students, staff, schools, and parents. Competency in behavioural consultation and a high level of proficiency with technology are an advantage. The incumbent will have demonstrated sound knowledge and competencies in the practice of psychology within an educational context. You will have experience working with children, adolescents and families as a Psychologist, and in areas related to mental health, trauma informed practices and threat assessments.
Responsibilities
Works effectively and collaboratively as part of an inter-disciplinary acute response team
Consultation, collaboration with a wide range of therapists, including occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, school staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive, multi-tiered response plans related to complex-trauma, mental health and mental illness within inclusive educational learning environments – experience with the neuro-sequential model in therapeutics (NMT) or the neuro-sequential model in education (NME) considered an asset
Collaboratively participates in pedagogical and curricular support, embedded coaching, professional learning, and school improvement planning
Provides consultative, collaborative, and coaching supports to interdisciplinary teams, school teams, staff and parents/guardians
Education/Experience (Teacher Psychologist)
A graduate degree in educational psychology, or related psychology field
Certification and registration as a Psychologist in Alberta
3 or more years experience
Possess, or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide Human Resources with an original of their Teacher Qualifications Service (TQS) document.
