Nature and Scope
The Curriculum Writer, Health Initiatives plays a key role in supporting the goals of the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies in developing the curriculum for various Health Initiative programming, as well as faculty professional development opportunities. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT’s vision, mission, and mandate.
General Accountability
The Curriculum Writer is responsible to ensure the creation and continuous improvement of SIIT’s curriculum. This position leads the research and development of all components of the curriculum, including the program and learning objectives, instructional and assessment methods appropriate for the achievement of those objectives, as well as the ongoing review and updating of content and evaluation of courses. The Curriculum Writer will provide feedback to external Curriculum Writers on content and the mechanics of writing to fit with the style of curriculum writing that SIIT has developed. In collaboration with the Instructional Designer, the Curriculum Writer will adapt current and new curriculum documents to be accessed from our digital learning platform.
Specific Accountabilities
The Health Initiatives Curriculum Writer is responsible for the ongoing development and design and re-design of the curriculum related to the programs offered at SIIT. This position is required to provide expert advice on all aspects of curriculum development. This position works closely with academic programming staff to ensure courses and course content are relevant and meet market needs. This position includes the following accountabilities:

Required Qualifications and Experience: A Master’s degree in the area of Education, Health, English Language Arts, Curriculum Development, or Instructional Design. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required. Knowledge of First Nations culture and organizations is an asset. Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
