Temporary Teaching Position (1.0 FTE)
January 16, 2023 to June 30, 2023

The position may include other assigned duties and starts January 16, 2023 and ends June 30, 2023.
Interested elementary teachers who are a member or who are eligible to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch are invited to apply. The teaching assignment includes Officer in Charge, and may include Grades K – 7 instruction.
Teachers with a demonstrated commitment to:
Developing a positive student centered learning environment;
Awareness of First Peoples Principles of Learning;
Cooperating with parents and peers;
Sound knowledge of technologies and their educational application;
Knowledge of sound intervention skills for behavior and cognitive difficulties.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
Training and experience in primary level instruction;
Experience in teaching First Nations students at the primary and intermediate level;
Training and experience in a Multi-Graded classroom;
Have the capability to work independently in an isolated educational environment;
Willingness to perform administrative duties, such as on site supervision.
Training or interest in the field of Special Education would be an asset to the applicant. A demonstrated ability to design, adapt, and modify curriculum to suit diverse needs is required. Candidates should be committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques. Preference will be given to teachers familiar with, and aware of local First Nation cultures.
