Position Summary
Segway Powersports Canada is seeking a detail oriented, trustworthy, take-charge Accountant to assist with managing our finances. Reporting to the Controller, your responsibilities will include tracking our organization’s revenue, expenses, and taxes, as well as producing financial reports. You will also be responsible for auditing our books to ensure our records are correct.
Key Responsibilities
· Work closely with Controller and senior management to manage accounts accountable payable
· Prepare accounting records by compiling and analyzing account information
· Reconciliations
· Performing month-end closings
· Updating the trial balance, profit-and-loss statement, and balance sheet
· Reconcile company’s financial records to help ensure accuracy of financial statements
· Maintain general ledgers and post journal entries
· Post financial transactions to accounts and prepare financial statements
· Complete and submit tax remittance forms, and other government documents
· Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
· Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
· At least 3 years’ experience in accounting
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite specifically advanced excel skills and other accounting software programs including QuickBooks
· Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
· Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Self-starter with strong attention to detail
