Position Summary:
The Manager, Annual Programs is responsible for developing strategy, managing, and overseeing the implementation of Seneca’s annual giving programs that reach out to stakeholders including governors, businesses, foundations, students, alumni, employees, and retirees. Reporting to the Associate Director, Annual Programs and Advancement Services, the incumbent plays a vital role in growing the donor pipeline and revenue from programs with a focus on gift values through direct marketing techniques and personal solicitations, directed and evaluated using detailed analytics. The program includes direct appeal initiatives such as employee and alumni campaigns, tribute and monthly giving, and a leadership program.
Responsibilities:
Annual Fund
- Preparation of comprehensive annual giving and stewardship business plans including budget, analytical data, timelines, activities, and evaluation benchmarks
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of Seneca’s annual giving programs, including but not limited to, Alumni Giving, Leadership Giving, Tribute Giving, Monthly Giving, and Employee Giving.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a pool of 30-50 leadership giving prospects, seeking, and securing gifts for the Annual Fund, as well as identify potential major and planned giving prospects.
- Supervise two development officers to advise in the planning and development of all annual giving fundraising initiatives and related materials.
- Thought learning of annual giving trends and strategies including social media and other digital fundraising tactics.
Data Management in the Annual Programs Portfolio
- Ensure Annual Giving activities are tracked correctly in the Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online databases.
- Ensure database standards and compliance are followed to achieve a high level of record and database accuracy and integrity.
Analytics
- Run queries to create reports and use analytics to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness. Identify new opportunities and make recommendations for continued development and improvement.
- Work closely with Seneca’s Centre for Institutional Data and Enterprise Analytics which houses objective and comprehensive information about the college and its students.
Finance
- Assist in setting fundraising goals, objectives, funding priorities, and fundraising targets in collaboration with the Associate Director, Annual Programs and Advancement Services
- Assist in developing and managing annual operational budgets.
- Monitor expenditures within allotted budgets and follow up on financial matters as required.
Qualifications:
Education
- Minimum completed three (3) year diploma or degree in a relevant or related field such as Communications, Computer Science, Marketing, Business Management, Public Administration or Non-Profit Leadership or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Five (5) years related experience in Annual Programs including one (1) year management experience.
- Post secondary experience in an advancement or development office with a fundraising program of a similar size to that of the College is preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the students, staff and public.
- Ability to analyze and review computer system capabilities, current operational procedures, identifying problem areas, and optimize formats for data inputs/summaries.
- Strong computer literacy with knowledge of a wide variety of software (i3, Raiser’s Edge, Luminate, Microsoft Office) and experience training users.
- Advanced understanding of office methods, procedures, practices, and accounting knowledge and ability to effectively work with other departments.
- Ability to address business and technical challenges with an innovative mindset.
- Commitment to and understanding of the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to be able to travel between Seneca campus locations, and outside of the GTA.
