Accountant We’re looking for a high impact Accountant to join Shakepay’s Finance team. As an accountant, you will play a hands-on role to ensure the accuracy of financial information in accordance with accounting principles, and help scale the accounting function at Shakepay.

You Will:

• Manage accounts payables and vendor relationships including reviewing vendor invoices and preparing payment based on obtaining the appropriate approvals.
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, crypto inventory, balance sheet, card transactions and other financial data and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with maintaining general ledger, delivering monthly, quarterly and annual financial close procedures.
• Support with documenting and improving accounting processes and internal controls. Help with identifying more effective ways to complete routine tasks.
• Assist with preparation of provincial, federal and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure financial information is accurate.
• Participate in special projects.

Must have

• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Enrolled or in the process of enrolling in the CPA program
• Strong time management skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Google Office, Microsoft Excel and advanced ERPs

Nice to have

• Prior experience in a crypto company or a technology start-up
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English
