Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating daily workflow for trucks, trailers, and drivers. This full-time position is working 8 days on, 6 days off; Wednesday to Wednesday with flexibility to cover absences when required. We are searching for a forward thinker to join our team who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to help grow Sharp Trucking Services through continuous improvement and innovation.
Job Description:
Managing fleet resources according to availability and schedules
Liaising with Maintenance on coordination and planning of equipment servicing
Planning and scheduling for plant interruptions, outages, haul diversions, holidays, etc.
Reviewing driver documents for accuracy and approving billable & payable hours
Reviewing dispatch schedules and plant details daily and strategically re-evaluating plans to respond to changes
Working closely with the Edmonton Operations team, including the Safety, Accounting and HR departments
Communicating with customers and drivers to ensure optimal operations and customer satisfaction
Site and field visits as required
Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
Minimum years’ experience in bulk dispatch, operations, logistics, or scheduling
Post-secondary education; a certificate or diploma in Logistics or Supply Management an asset
Advanced Microsoft Excel and computer skills; experience with Axon or a similar dispatch system is an asset
Exceptional critical thinking and problem resolution skills
Aptitude to apply knowledge and experience to “see the big picture”
Ability to work with a dynamic team, in a dynamic industry
High level of attention to detail, with impeccable organizational abilities
Process-driven individual, who excels at executing tasks from conception through to completion
Professional, prompt communication skills with both internal and external “customers”
