Position Description
Working as part of the Volunteer Resources (VR) team as a Human Resources Associate, you will work with the Volunteer Coordinator and Specialist providing recruitment and on-boarding support within a fast paced, volume and deadline driven environment.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do
Create volunteer job postings
Collect and screen resumes
Schedule interviews
Ensure compliance with mandatory on-boarding requirements are met
Organize Orientation sessions and deliver portions of the sessions to new volunteers
Volunteer record entry into VSys (Volunteer Management System) and PeopleSoft, overseeing the integration between the two systems
Manage the VR Reception desk, fielding general internal inquiries and external inquiries from the public, both in person, by phone and by email (currently virtual)
Assist with the management of electronic volunteer records management system (Paperlite)
Participate in departmental team projects as required
Audit VR paperwork for processing
Generate and update a variety of reports to support team and client requests
Here’s What You’ll Need
University/College Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or Volunteer Management and/or actively pursuing an education in Human Resources or Volunteer Management
Minimum one year Volunteer Management or HR related experience
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated experience working within VSys (Volunteer Management System) and PeopleSoft or high aptitude for learning the same
Strong written and verbal communication skills, which will enable you to deal comfortably with people at all levels within the organization
Strong presentation skills in order to deliver effective Orientation sessions
Self-motivation and exceptional customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills that enable you to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities
Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail, while providing quick turnaround time
Strong teamwork skills, ability to work well with others in a small team
