Who We Are
The Admissions Assistants process applications for admission and re-admission to all undergraduate admission programs at the University, ensuring applications are complete so they may move forward for evaluation.
About The Role
Reporting to the Admissions Processing Coordinator, processes applications for admission and re-admission to all undergraduate admission programs. Provides information to applicants, students, staff, and the general public on the different admission requirements; status of applications; records; deadlines; and university policies and procedures regarding eligibility for admission to all undergraduate programs. Creates files; receives required documentation; and evaluates files for all Canadian High schools and BC Post-secondary students and makes final admissions decisions. Forwards the other basis of admissions for evaluation to admission advisors. Performs complex and specialized clerical functions related to the creation and maintenance of accurate undergraduate student records. Creates and updates student information system records and prints, checks, and disseminates a variety of system reports. Reports systems problems and suggests solutions, test system changes and prints and reviews reports for accuracy, and recommends the development of new and/or revised business forms, documents, processes and procedures. Maintains the database for articulated transferable course work from Universities and colleges within Canada and internationally. Updates the BC Transfer Guide with transfer credit additions/changes. Assists the Admissions Processing Coordinator in the training and in the assigning and checking of work to temporary staff performing similar work.
Qualifications
High school graduation and general courses or training of moderate duration (one semester equivalent) in word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications, and in office procedures.
