Job role: Environmental Services Manager Full Time

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for tasks such as:
Maintenance of the home including, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, etc.
Supervising third party contractors to ensure work meets our requirements and standards
Managing the departmental budgets and inventory, including purchasing of supplies and equipment
Maintaining policies and procedures within the department, and leading new initiatives and projects
All aspects of quality control of services and products provided/ produced by departmental staff
Management of the departmental safety program including preventative maintenance schedules
Maintaining records, statistics, and reports in accordance with internal and external policies and guidelines
Managing the laundry, housekeeping and facilities of our home, including all aspects of hiring, performance management and scheduling of these team members
Other duties as required or assigned
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:
Environmental Services Certificate in a recognized program, or ability to enroll within 3 months of hire
2+ years management experience in long-term care setting in a similar role would be considered an asset
Experience managing employees in a unionized environment
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Knowledge of the Long Term Care Homes and Retirement Homes Act is an asset
Demonstrated experience with building maintenance and upkeep
Excellent interpersonal, project and time management and communication skills
A can-do, roll up your sleeves kind of attitude
