The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Planning, Design and Projects, the Manager of Projects will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing construction projects and managing and mentoring SAIT project managers and coordinators for SAIT across various campuses in Calgary. This role requires a seasoned construction professional with strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and a deep understanding of construction processes. This role will also involve managing external project managers and project teams, building relationships with external stakeholders, and collaborating with internal planning and design teams, operations and maintenance teams in addition to integrated facilities management partners.
The Manager will act as SAIT’s representative to numerous industry partners, capital project stakeholders, consultants and contractors and is ultimately accountable for the project team’s deliverables, including accuracy and efficiencies of overall project execution, and assist in internal FM procedural development within the Facilities Management department. Projects within a program portfolio can range from Level 1 small, in-house projects, to Level 2 mid-size multimillion-dollar contract projects.
The Manager will review on-going resource opportunities and leveling to ensure the appropriate amount of external contract project support is managed and recovered as capital budgets change. The incumbent will also collaborate with the Manager, Planning and Design, to refine Project planning and initiation processes and guide projects transitions from strategic planning to timely execution.

Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
