Role

The Accounts Payable Analyst will assist in ensuring the accurate and timely processing, evaluation, and reporting of expenses. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, processing vendor invoices, facilitating settlements and employee expenses, as well as reconciliation of accounts. You will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial data for AR (processing invoices and manage aging accounts), as well as supporting AP (to manage vendor accounts and analyze trends). You have a broad knowledge of accounting functions as well as general administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process vendor invoices in the Company’s ERP for prompt payment.
• Validate invoices for appropriate approvals, ensuring correct coding to GL accounts.
• Provide vendor and expense analysis.
• Prepare prepaid and accrual journal entries, ensuring accurate recording of capital assets.
• Maintain vendor relationships, resolving inquiries promptly.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns, including GST, HST, QST in various provinces.
• Handle, organize, and process emails for Accounts Payable.
• Perform backup duties for Accounts Receivable Analyst.
• Assist with financial reports, cashflow projections, and various financial analyses.

Skills And Qualifications

• CPA or enrolled (an asset)
• Strong analytical skills – high attention to detail but can also summarize and package for review with management
• Solid understanding of cost concepts
• Above-average Microsoft Excel skills – proficient with pivot tables, if statements, lookups, and various functions
• Accounts Payable experience required; Accounts Receivable experience (an asset)
• Electronic accounting system experience (Quickbooks ideal)
• Proficient with other Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
• Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proven problem-solver, comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Salary

• $60,000 – $70,000
