Staffy Inc. Looking for People and Culture Manager (16 Month) at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Mission of the Role:

This is a maternity leave position for 16 months.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Strategic HR Leadership

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy based on the roadmap outlined by the Director of People.
• Lead the design and execution of the company’s culture and engagement initiatives.

Talent Management

• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract top talent in the healthcare tech industry.
• Develop and manage performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms.

Employee Development

• Design and implement professional development programs and initiatives to support career growth and skill enhancement based on the needs of the business.
• As required, coordinate training sessions, workshops, and learning opportunities tailored to individual and organizational needs.

Employee Relations

• Foster a positive, inclusive work environment by promoting open communication and radical candour.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations in Ontario, maintaining a fair and equitable workplace for all employees.

Culture and Engagement

• Lead initiatives to enhance company culture, employee engagement, and team collaboration.
• Organize team-building events with the Culture Committee, recognition programs, and other activities to promote a cohesive and motivated workforce.

HR Operations

• Carry out key HR functions such as payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless HR processes and alignment with company objectives.

Plus, any other tasks as assigned.

What We Need from You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, focusing on talent management, organizational development, and employee relations, preferably in a technology startup environment.
• Proficiency with Humi (HRIS), ADP (payroll), extended health benefit platforms and the Google Business Suite.
• Ability to communicate, present and interact with key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and complete work activities to maximize efficient use of time and resources in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
• Passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture and employee well-being.
• Able to engage in strategic discussions and inform decisions through evidence and experience in a collaborative setting.
• Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to teamwork and inclusivity.
• Self-motivated and action-oriented – able to accomplish objectives and exceed expectations with a can-do attitude and an appetite for a startup environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment at least 3-days per week, balancing remote and in-office responsibilities. 
• Able to travel as needed for events, sponsorships and/or speaking engagements
• Able to prioritize and complete work activities to maximize efficient use of time and resources in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
