Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a Financial Analyst with strong multi-tasking, interpersonal and organizational skills. As a key member of the Financial Services team and a business partner to operations, the Financial Analyst will provide financial expertise in the day-to-day operations of financial reporting, adding value to the company. This opportunity is in Edmonton, Alberta.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Understand the Business Center (BC) structure as developed by operations
- Prepare, maintain, and review various balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the 5-day period end close process including identifying any issues and the action required to correct them to ensure that our financial statements are properly stated.
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Preparing and reviewing related balance sheet reconciliations and continuities
- Provide support to the acquisition process.
- Assist in gathering information for the quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Assist the Team Lead with various ad-hoc projects.
- Identify and assist with the implementation of various business process improvements.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Effective communication skills, including written and oral English language competency
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and firm deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Proactive
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment in person and remote
Education and Experience
- Accounting Diploma or Degree and a minimum of three years’ experience working in Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Experience with Oracle or another large Enterprise system is preferred
- Working towards CPA Accounting designation is preferred
