At Staples Canada, our people are our most important resource. Our Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to our high performing Talent Acquisition team. They will play a key role in enhancing both our candidate and client experience while ensuring a high degree of operational excellence and execution. The successful candidate will also help in the sourcing and screening of high-quality candidates for both our Retail and Corporate functions while promoting Staples as an employer of choice. Specifically, You Will:

• Support in executing day-to-day TA strategies to further drive the team’s operational excellence across compliance and system utilization
• Open and close assigned job requisitions as per TA needs
• Collaborate on and implement all appropriate sourcing avenues for posting and promoting a position
• Conduct reference and background checks on successful candidates
• Initiate a passive candidate search through mining and or headhunting as requested
• Screen job requisition to assess applicant’s suitability and book interviews accordingly
• Conduct interviews in a courteous manner, ensuring a great candidate experience from end to end
• Recommend viable candidates to TA and coordinates interviews with appropriate parties
• Ensure timely communication and update all parties involved regarding applicant status
• Assist in making recommendations for process improvement to further drive results and solutions across the TA enterprise
• Participate in career fairs and information sessions to further build awareness surrounding Staples opportunities
• Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure accurate and compliant record keeping
• Responsible to enter all new hire paperwork into PeopleSoft when needed
• Track and report talent acquisition activities for all required metrics
• Responsible and accountable for expenses incurred related to travel and accommodations

Some of what you need:

• University Degree/Post-secondary education required or related experience preferred
• Certificate/Degree in Human Resources Management completed or in progress
• Previous experience in retail an asset
• Minimum of 1-2 years of years previous recruitment experience preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of previous talent acquisition/HR (or related field) coordination support
• Bilingualism (French) is an asset
• Effective use of business systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
• Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems, Internet sourcing methods and PeopleSoft (HRIS) would be considered an asset
• Ability to handle multiple job requisitions simultaneously and balancing numerous priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to influence and provide feedback to hiring Managers
• Strong written and oral communication skills
