Who we are looking for
Securities Valuation Toronto (“Sec Val – Toronto”) is a centralized unit supporting several business units and is broken out into two distinct areas; Fund Level Pricing and Asset Pricing. The Senior Manager, Sec Val – Toronto is responsible for managing a group of approximately 15 pricing specialists and analysts; ensuring accuracy and timely execution of daily market valuations for various clients in accordance with each clients’ Price Source Authorization (“PSA”) agreement, standing instructions, and market best practices.

What you will be responsible for
As Valuation Specialist you will
- Assist in the oversight of preparation and delivery of valuation reports to internal and external clients and/or their agents in a timely manner.
- Ensure that procedures are in place, up to date, and adhered to regarding the review and approval of portfolio market values. Propose changes to procedures to management with a focus of reducing risk, manual inputs, and increasing efficiencies.
- Ensure the receipt of all pricing feeds, broker quotes, back-up pricing sources and other relevant data on a daily basis. Identify, research, and resolve prices breaking set tolerance levels.
- Function as a “team-player”. Work with peers and achieve group/client/unit goals.
- Review and sign-off on daily group packages with a focus on accuracy, detail, audit trail, and timeliness.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve fair value situations. Escalate issues to manager and/or clients as required.
- Support global pricing tasks in a continuous operations environment.
- Ensure that the group is adequately trained and cross-trained. Coach, mentor, and motivate staff.
- Continuously expand and improve knowledge of financial instruments, corporate actions, and best valuation practices.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the various fund groups, client requirements and other market related anomalies.
- Maintain proper documentation and back-up for audit purposes.
- Participate in and contribute to unit project initiatives.
- Provide outstanding client service to both internal and external clients.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- College or university designation preferably with a concentration in finance or accounting.
- 5+ years experience in securities pricing, fund accounting, or custody operations / securities administration.
- 2+ years experience in a management role.
- Knowledge of capital markets and complex securities.
Additional requirements
Flexibility to provide extended hour supervision beyond 6 – 8 PM
Ability to work from home (currently we are 100% WFH and are envisioning a hybrid model where employees will follow a combination of WFH and in-office, according to department deliverables and employee preferences
