Summary:

We’re hiring a Lighting and Compositing Lead. The role combines many complementary skills, including a strong aesthetic eye, an understanding of production, lighting, composition, color theory, and material design as well as lighting and rendering technology and workflows. Are you a Senior Lighting and Compositing artist ready to take the next step?

Our ideal candidate will understand production expectations, communicate the department’s needs, work out issues, and engage in discussions with other supervisors and production members to ensure the project is executed to the highest standards.

Your Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the lighting and compositing department’s creative and technical needs.
• Be responsible for lighting, rendering and compositing stages of production
• Ensure execution to expected standards.
• Collaborate with other departments on solutions, workflows, and deadlines.
• Collaborate with production on deadlines and task assignments.
• Bring shots and sequences to life: light, render, and comp shots.
• Light, render, and composite shots and sequences that meet the project’s look.
• Deliver shots and corrections as requested by Supervisor or Client/Director.
• Participate in Asset Look Development or Light Rig Creation for use by other departments.

Experience, Talents, and Abilities we’re looking for:

• 4+ years of experience as a Lighting Artist or Lighting Lead role.
• Excellent understanding and production experience with Maya.
• Excellent understanding and production experience with Nuke.
• Experience with Redshift render engine is a plus.
• Experience with one or more of the following industry software is a plus: Shotgun, Katana, Arnold and Deadline.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are a plus.
• A great aesthetic eye for light, color, and composition.
• Ability to identify visual cues and follow directions from art references.
• This is a remote (work from home) position, but if you prefer to work from the studio this is also possible!
• Eligible to work in B.C
