Seeking a Senior Accountant to be part of our team! The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, client billing and payroll. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

We are hiring one full-time Senior Accountant, with the schedule of Monday – Friday. Annual compensation is $60-$65k with an annual salary increase, and full benefits after probation. This role is remote Monday and Tuesday, and in-office Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Review and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status based on the analysis results
• Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to company’s COO and CEO
• Develop recommendations to optimize company’s accounting systems and procedures and detect inaccuracies
• Support and consult company’s personnel on accounting control procedures
• Take part in forecasting and financial standards setting processes
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
• Organize financial statements and budget preparation, accurately and timely
• Support and oversee audits (both internal and external) and tax returns
• Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
• Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
• Create and send invoices weekly
• Complete and execute payroll bi-weekly
• Complete monthly HST remittance

Skillset:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field with an emphasis in Finance and/or Accounting with a minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience
• CPA-CMA, CPA-CA certification or MBA in Finance, Economics or related field
• Strong Excel Skills (experience with Macros is an added advantage)
• Proven expertise in financial planning and reporting within a company with a fast-paced, dynamic and fluid environment
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Experience working in a matrix organization is considered an advantage
• Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset. Analytical skills in converting data/information to comprehensive insights.
• Team player attitude, solid positive energy, confident, integrity and passion for the Brand
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Good practical experience with accounting software packages such as QuickBooks will be an added advantage.
