STEMCELL Technologies, Canada’s largest biotech company is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to step in for a fixed-term maternity leave cover and support a key vertical of the business, circa 230 employees globally based.
Be responsible for the overall coordination and successful delivery of STEMCELL’s HR programs (designed by the Centres of Excellence). The core HR practice areas for service delivery encompass organizational development, workforce planning, employee training and leadership development, performance management, compensation and benefits, disability management, talent acquisition, immigration, conflict resolution and employee relations, in accordance with local regulations and the established HR strategies, programs, policies, processes and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under limited supervision provide front-line HR consultation, counsel, coaching and development to people managers and employees in all HR practice areas, including legal compliance, employment standards and employee relations matters for an assigned business group(s)
Support management in identifying and developing the next generation of leaders, and oversee the development of job profiles and career paths, including job analysis, job design and job evaluation
Collaborate with the HR functional teams in the planning, implementation, execution and roll-out of HR programs, processes and policies. Provide feedback and guidance on appropriate adjustments of HR strategies to address current business needs. Lead and guide managers and employees through all HR programs and processes
Identify and track people metrics, oversee staff planning activities and proactively identify organization structures and strategies to achieve the assigned business groups’ objectives through people
Demonstrate the value of employee engagement using appropriate measures to encourage productivity, continuous improvement and innovation and strengthen retention of diverse employees
Knowledge and Qualifications
Requires a minimum of 6-10 years of HR experience with broad knowledge in HR, including processes, practices, and approaches
Bachelor’s Degree; CPHR designation or equivalent
Relationships Management
Dealing with sensitive and highly confidential HR issues ethically and with tact and discretion
Adaptability, ability to operate with ambiguity and resilience to change
